Char Kuey Tiaw

Penang is famous for Char kway teow, literally "rice cake strips stir fried in a fragrant chilli and soy paste, with cockles, prawns, beansprouts and chives " This dish which is  considered a national favourite is a popular hawker fare. 

Nasi Kandar

 Your choice of a variety of meats and vegetables cooked in aromatic spices topped with the ever delicious 'kuah campur',  nasi kandar is must-try dish while you are in Penang. This world famous cusine has its own historical value which translate into its rich flavour with indian influence


If you could only eat one dish while in Penang.. (let's hope that won't happen) this is the dish you must try. A medley of deep fried battered seafood mixed with freshly grated cucumber and chinese chestnuts topped with a rich  velvety chilly based sauce makes this dish the signature Penang dish!

Pinang Peranakan Museum

The Pinang Peranakan Museum offers a glimpse of  the typical home of a rich Baba of a century ago showcasing an opulent lifestyle and   many customs and traditions associated with the Baba Nyonya Culture. With over 1,000 pieces of antiques and collectibles of the era on display, this Baba-Nyonya museum is  housed in one of Penang’s heritage mansion of eclectic design and architecture.


Penang is dotted with many quaint and exquisite historical mosques.  Many of them are in the town itself...

Kek Lok Si Temple

Penang is home to South East Asia's largest Buddhist Temple. Nestled in the green  hills at Ayer Itam, the temple is also an important pilgrimage centre for Buddhists from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore and other countries in Southeast Asia. 

Kongsi; is a Hokkien transcription term to mean 'company'. Kongsi were most commonly known as Chinese social organizations or partnership or clans.The famous Khoo Kongsi is the grandest clan temple in the country. It is also one of the city's major historic attractions. Trust us, this 650-year-old ‘kongsi’ building won’t disappoint your visit with their rich historical background.
